1986 Honda Z50RD “Christmas Special”

The 1986 Honda Z50RD Christmas Special is one of the most desirable of the famous little Honda monkey bikes ever made. It was produced in extremely limited numbers for one year only. Just two were sent to each dealer, limited to only high-performing Honda dealers that were qualified to receive them. According to Wikipedia, there were only up to 1,610 of these bikes ever produced by Honda. Many were never sold to the public, and instead kept by shop owners to be put on display. Arguably THE most collectible and sought after minibike, ever.

This one is an example of a mint and original 1986 Honda Z50RD that has spent most of its life (so far) on display. It is extremely rare and an all original vintage minibike, other than the fact that I updated the tires with a new set of OEM IRC Tractor Grip tires and a brand new NOS Honda fuel petcock. Everything else on this bike is the same as it was when it was on the showroom floor in 1986.

Starts right up in one kick and runs strong and quiet. Very much full of life and youth, as the throttle is quite peppy and responsive. Has that sought after Honda 4 stroke reliability. It is a 49cc engine paired with a 3 speed tansmission. Does not smoke, leak, or anything like that. This is a rare one, in fabulous overall original condition.

The original Honda Z50RD owners manual is included with the sale. Also included is the awesome chrome display stand (says Honda, but not made by Honda) seen in the first picture. First picture is newest photo (of after I replaced the tires with OEM tires). All other photos have the old tires on the bike.
